Writing a daily blog is a very rewarding task for many reasons. It also has various positive applications for business.
Blogging can offer personal satisfaction about reflecting on our experiences. Blogs offer us the opportunity to publish and disseminate our ideas throughout the world via the Internet. Blogging also clearly has business applications. For instance, blogs can help to add credibility for you in your subject area. This can be peer-to-peer credibility, or company to customer/client credibility. Furthermore, blogging that takes into account various Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) writing strategies can have an constructive influence on the volume of traffic that visits your website.
These are my Five Top Tips for Writing your Blog:
TIP ONE: Blog Keywords - When you're writing a blog, you need to consider what the keywords are going to be used for that day's blog post. It's important not to drench the blog in the same keyword over and over, but by using the term in fascinating and well-written text, you won't disturb the flow.
My top tip on keywords is to focus on the natural SEO that is created by an excellent blog post, rather than worrying about stuffing enough keywords into your blog.
TIP TWO: Blog Frequency - If you want to make your blog successful, then blog often. Daily is best, but if not, a couple of times per week. The more frequently that you create interesting, relevant blogs, the greater the potential traffic you will receive to your website. Obviously, don't write for the sake of writing, you still need to have something to say!
TIP THREE: Blog Length - Recent research has concluded that web readers will stay focused on average for 96 seconds, roughly a minute and a half. So make your blog to the point and snappy and place the most relevant information at the beginning of the blog. I would advise that your blog posts are no longer than 600 words and no fewer than 300 words.
TIP FOUR: One Blog Post One Topic - Keep it simple. Discuss one topic per blog post so as to keep your readers focused on a single issue. If you confuse them with lots of divergent discussions, they are unlikely to keep reading and less likely to return to your blog again.
TIP FIVE: Blog and Domain Name - Choosing the right blog and domain name is vital. Domain and Blog names are issues of branding. You should take the naming as seriously as you would the branding of any company, product or service. Remember, your blog can be read by the world, so be aware of the image that you are projecting with your domain name, your blog name and what you write in it. Choose something distinctive, but most importantly relevant!
